What Causes Suffocation And Nasal Blocking?

hello...im really confused of why i am acting this way..these past weeks i can observe myself hardly breathing...it feels like something is blocking my nasal cavity or way through my esophagus..i dont know if i say it right since i m not well aware of those parts within but it feels those things do involve...i thought what caused me to breath like this is just because of my fitting wears..but when i tried not wearing those, it still occurs. you know how it feels like suffocated,it hurts when you need to gasp for air but there s something blocking..i dont have any asthma symptoms though.what may be the reasons for this?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your history of suffocation, nasal blockage to through esophagus, no asthma symptoms, loose clothes did not help, feels like when one need to gasp for air.
This can be diagnosed by the following ways done one by one to confirm or rule out.
First of all consult an ENT Surgeon for ENT Endoscopy and upper GI Endoscopy if need be as these will help to identify any obstruction.
CT scan of nose, nasopharynx and chest will help further.
PFT that is pulmonary function tests.
Clinical trial with nasal drops and bronchodilator.
All these things will help to know the cause.
IF all the investigations and clinical evaluation is negative then the cause can be anxiety and stress.
Get the further management as per the cause found.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT & General Surgeon
