What Causes Stringy Mucus Discharge While On Oral Contraceptive?
30 yr old female, 200lbs, good health, oral contraceptive for 4 yrs.
I am currently on my 1st week of a new pack of birth control and i have so much stringy mucus. Why could this be? It stretches like 8-10 inches and i have never seen it like this before while on the pill.
It is suggestive of ovulation. Based on the history and the physical characteristics of cervical you seem to be showing the signs of ovulation and you have a high risk of getting pregnant as the cervical mucus is thin and stretchy and the sperms can survive in this mucus for up to 72 hours. It could be due to either you have forgot to take the pills for seven days or you might have started taking the new pack during your mid cycle.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
