What Causes Soreness Below Rib Cage With Hardness In Stomach?

it has been over a year since I had a lobectomy for an infected bulla. since my surgery, I have had what feels like fluid moving in my left side and at this time, I am now feeling extreme soreness in my below my left rib cage along with a hardness almost to the center of my stomach. I am always with a low grade fever, tiredness, and over all sick. The surgery was to take care of this. I have had mri and cts of the chest and my lung area is fine. should I be concerned with my lung or should I start looking elsewhere. I also wake up sounding like I have bronchitis but as I am on my feet, things get better and even the swelling in my face has gone down. Any suggestions? my PCP is great but I feel he is missing something.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Pain may be due to neuropthy or nerve damage during surgery. Pain may be due to effusion or infection or gastrtis or left lobe of liver enlargement etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Please get it done ultrasound chest and abdomen.

If necessary CT chest. Please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
