What Causes Sickness In Stomach After Taking Alcohol?

when ive had even a few units of alcohol, i will feel sick for days. ive been to my doctor on countless occasions and been told its my ibs. but after a large amount of tests still nothing is conclusive. ive been getting 2/3 day hangovers for about 6 years (im 25) i know im not wheat or lactose intolerant as the countless tests have all come back negative. this affects my life in a huge way. i feel like i cant stay at my girlfriends house after a few drinks because of the amount of times i will have to use the bathroom the next morning. and have to plan trips or days out carefully so i know where the nearest toilet is. any advice would be amazing as im at my wits end.

Hi,

Noted the history and understood the concerns.

You are getting all the symptoms, hangover after alcohol means there is something in alcohol that does not suit your intestines. Hence the loose stools and all the symptoms.
Hence the first and foremost management is to avoid rather stop alcohol once for all. This will solve all the problems.
But if you still have symptoms in spite of not taking alcohol and all the tests till now have come back to normal then I would advise you the following:
Consult a Gastroenterologist for clinical evaluation and examination.
Get colonoscopy and biopsy.
CT scan of abdomen and any other tests as suggested.
If there is any positive finding then a proper treatment will take care of your symptoms and make life easy.
If all these tests are normal then this may be due to IBS that is Irritable Bowel Syndrome and thus related to the stress and anxiety which must be controlled.
