Reason For Slight Orange Vaginal Discharge?

I am 50yrs old and had a partial hysterectomy 7 years ago. I have noticed that occasionaly my vaginal discharge is slightly orange. It has no odour. I am on high doses of zinc, vitamin c selenium, magnesium. I am also taking red krill oil, evening primrose oil, pro biotics, and tumeric. I have IBS, am gluten and lactose intolerant and have a low white cell count which a Heamotologist has said is probably normal for me. Is this something I need to get checked out?

Hi,

As you undergone partial or subtotal hysterectomy, there is a possibility of retaining the cervix. In that case better to get examined once. The possible causes of your problem are:
- Cervical erosion, polyp, infections, etc.
- Dryness of local vaginal tissue, leading to breaches and spotting.

By clinical examination and investigations like pap smear, vaginal swab culture and sensitivity the possible cause of your problem can be identified and treatment can be planned accordingly. Vaginal wash with PH 3.5 to 4.5 can give symptomatic relief.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sree Gouri S. R., OBGYN
