What Causes Shortness In Breath And Fluttering In Heart?

Hello. I ve had two dvt s over 2 years ago. Sometimes I feel short of breath and a kind of fluttering in my heart. Should I see a Dr.? Otherwise I feel fine, I function normally, but I m 38 and have 3 kids so I don t want to take any chances. Is it possible that I m still getting pulmonary emboli without having any other symptoms? Also, when I had my dvt s, I was recovering from an opiate addiction through methadone treatment. Is it possible that the methadone helped set the stage for them to form? Thank you for your time! Harold. I m sorry Dr. No money in the account until Monday. Thanks anyway...

yes you are quite right , methadone causes cardiac arrhythmias and hypotension which thwn can lead to DVT, it also causes respiratory abnormality including shallow and fast breathing.if you are still on this drug then please consult your treating physician and withdraw it , you should also go for ECG , ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY, and if required angiography.you can also go for chest x ray, lung function test and D dimer assay. it will be good to not to go for opiate intake ever in your life because there are many other excellent way to enjoy life but not through addiction.
wish you all the best.
