What Causes Severe Cough Along With Sore Throat And Headache?

I am wondering if whati have is a virus or something more. I have had cold-like symptoms for a week now. I had a dry cough and sore throat at first. They both went away and then I got a runny nose. Now I have a wet cough and each time I cough, I get shooting pains in my head. The sore throat is back slightly and well as stuffed/runny nose.
