What Causes Runny Nose With Fever And Body Pain During Pregnancy?
Hi, my wife is 25 weeks pregnant. She is having runny nose and sneezing since last two days. Yesterday, she was also having temperature which was 101 F. She complains severe pain in legs, neck and lower back. I wonder can it be dengue because it is widespread in our city these days. Regards,
There is high possibility of dengue as it is wide spread in your city and your wife's symptoms allso suggest it. Joint pain, back pain, high fever strongly points towards dengue.
I would advise you to visit a general physician immediately (although don't panic as only 1% of dengue patients are seriously ill ) as your wife is pregnant also. Platelet in blood are required to be monitored in dangue patients. Antibody titre for dengue will confirm the diagnosis.
Meanwhile keep giving lot of fluids (water, juices) and maintain her temperature below 99 by paracetamol, cold sponging. Keep house and surrounding mosquito free by emptying water bodies, covering overhead tanks, and anti mosquito spray. Inform to local health authorities for their records and actions.
I hope my reply will benefit you. Please write for follow up questions. Kindly give a feedback on this answer.i wish your wife rapid recovery,.Thank you.
