What Causes Body Pain, Fever And Nasal Congestion In A Child?

My 13 year old daughter has flu like symptoms...aches all over, fever of 101.9, sore throat, headache, stuffy/runny nose, chills alternating with sweating. She had a flu shot. She started feeling ill about 8 hours ago. Could this be the flu? Would she be a candidate for Tamiflu?

As per your query you have body pain, fever and nasal congestion in a child . The symptoms you mention in query are pointing toward a condition like viral . Well this goes away in few days by its own , take steam twice a day and drink warm water with honey and lemon . But if it is getting worse then consult ENT specialist for proper checkup . Doctor may order blood test , viral culture test and throat swab test to confirm the diagnosis and rule out causes like scarlet fever or strep throat as you mention in query . Doctor may prescribe anti viral drug , decongestants and mucolytic agent . For now do warm saline gargles and take steam .
