What Causes Running Nose And Constipation While On Furosemide?

I take furosemide along with my blood pressure medicine. Recently I had symptoms like an allergy, sneezing, runny nose, constipation, etc. I had to use Tylenol in order to sleep. That has stopped now. But, now I have urges to urinate but nothing comes out most of the time. I am still urinating but not at the level and relaxing afterwords that I experienced. Should I stop the Lasix so I am not forced to expel more liquid. Did the allergic week change something?

Hi,

So far as symptoms narrated here, running nose is viral flu not associated with diuretic intake. As there is repeated urge to urinate and nothing comes out, I recommend to stop the Furosemide after consulting your physician.

Constipation requires plenty of liquids and high fiber diet with bulk forming laxative as and when required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
