Hi....I am 47 years old....I have always had heavy periods with clotting.....It is nothing to go through a couple overnight pads every couple hours....As I have gotten older, I do notice more cramping....Often times when I change position, I feel gushing....but my question is this.....Is it normal to bleed out the rectum as well during menstruation only?....Sometimes movement even causes gushing from that are also.

Hi,

It's normal to have bleeding from rectum during periods. You need a series of tests to be done eg USG -whole abdomen and pelvis , Colonoscopy , blood pressure check ,etc.

Kindly consult your genaecologist for clinical examination and investigations related to your problem.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
