What Causes Persistent Sores On The Penile Shaft?
Goodday doctor, I am writing on behalf of my husband, he has been having sores on his penile shaft, around the base of the penis and on the scrotun for about 11years now, he has been having the sores since he was a virgin and I am the only sexual partner he ever had. He has been treated with antibiotics about twice and also for yeast infection but the sores are still persistent, pls we would like to know what could be the cause and a probable solution. Thank you

As per your case history, your husband has multiple folliculitides. My treatment advice is -
1. Don't squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an NSAID like ibuprofen for 5-7 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, cefadroxil, and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
