What Causes Persistent Constipation In Children?

my 3 and a half year old boy has had constipation since he was a ababy. We have tried a number of things including movicol and lactulose. Doctor says there is no medical reason for his constipation. We are trying to potty train but he is resistant and will not have anything to do with it. How can we put him at ease and stop him witholding his poo? He will not sit on the potty or toilet and often 'tries' up to 5 times a day but only a bit comes out each time.

Thanks for the query.
It seems like your child has functional constipation.
So don't worry you can do the course of syp. Lactulose at night for 3 months continuosly so that he will develop habbit of going to toilet regularly.
Hope i helped you.
