What Causes Painful Stools?

My problem started yesterday afternoon. I thought I had to fart but it came out liquid. When I got to the bathroom it poured out like a foucet. I had no pain so it was completely unexpected. It happened several times throughout the day and I eventually started going more often to avoid accidents. I put a pad on and no more farting. I figured it would pass. I went out today knowing it hadn t stopped but seemed slightly better. No, it s worse. I went to a public restroom and when I went to wipe it felt like I was wiping with a cactus. When I looked there was blood on the tissue; not from the stool I don t think but from wiping. Luckily I have a daughter, so I had my husband bring me diaper wipes. I ve been using those all day. My stomach still doesn t have much pain, but the stools have burned me raw. It s liquid yellowish and has small chunks in it. It burns like crazy, and I m getting scared. Please, can you give me an answer? I can t think of any foods I ate that could have caused it, but my family had been sick recently. Could it be viral?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of painful stools.
The commonest cause of painful stools are as follows:
Fissure in ano.
Peri-anal excoriation.
Prolapsed thrombosed piles.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
First of all get a confirmed diagnosis by an examination by a General Surgeon- per-rectal digital examination, proctoscopy and colonoscopy.
Tests of stool, blood and urine help further.
Once diagnosed get the treatment accordingly.
I find this answer helpful
