What Causes Pain, burning And Swelling In Lower Abdomen After Hernia Repair?

5 weeks ago I had an incisional hernia repair. I have severe lower left abdominal pain which feels like something is lodged and needs to be removed...burning...and swelling in that area. I can't bend, sit, laydown and have been to my surgeon twice who has told me that the area of surgery is healing well and does not believe it is related. I have had a KUB (which indicates stones and I am prone to get), CT scan with and without die and bloodwork. I have not had the results of the CT scan or bloodwork yet. I am at wits end and don't know where else to turn to for further diagnosis.

Hello,

It is a history of recently surgery done for hernia, (Incisional), and the given symptoms could be due to that only looking to the symptoms given here pain, swelling, burning sensation.

All of these indicates the infection and it needs to be ruled out, as you have stated here that the imaging investigation already being sent, and you are waiting for.

If it turned out to be infection, then antibiotic would be cure else surgical cause need to be taken for repair again.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Akhtarhusain
