What Causes Pain On Forearm, Cannot Bend Index Finger After Had Injury To Left Hand From Freon?

I have had an injury to my left hand since 2008. It was a chemical burn from freon. I can not bend my index finger in the first or second joint. Now I have been having pain all the way up my forearm on bottom side. What could be the cause of this, and should I see a doctor about this?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello

First I will advise to do x ray and rule out any arthritis of finger bones.
According to your history it looks that there is possibility of strictures due to chemical injury leading to stiffness.

Physiotherapy with ultrasound, wax bath and Tens will help you,
Exercises should be continued.
For early healing you can take Tab celin [vit C]
Yes you should consult doctor and physiotherapist.

If there is no relief them you may need to do MRI.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Take care.
