What Causes Pain In The Right Side Of The Body And Enlarged Tonsils?

Hi, I am a 28 yr old male and i ve pain in the right side of my throught. I can see that I have some warts on my tonsil when I look at it in the mirror. I don t have cold nor flu and I have been feeling this pain (which fades and awakens) since a year ago. My tonsils are large and sometimes form tonsil stones on them. I was worried this can be something serious.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your history of enlarged tonsil on right side with some warty growth, pain in throat, stone formation in tonsil.
Warty growth on tonsil is very rare to occur hence should be seen by an ENT Surgeon for clinical evaluation, to get the detailed history of any oral sexual activity, to see for cancer or so.
Proper clinical evaluation may help and proper antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicine course can cure the problems.
If there is no relief then removal of both tonsils and sending for histopathology may be required to get the most appropriate diagnosis so that proper management can be done.
Formation of stones in tonsil is a normal process and not a disease hence not to be bothered.
May need a CT scan of the tonsils and neck to see for any growth, lymph nodes and if positive the nearest lymph node can be examined by FNAC or biopsy as this can tell the cause of tonsillar enlargement.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dentist Dr. Dr. Rohit S Menon's  Response
Hi,

Do warm salt water gargle and do tongue scraping with tongue scraper after brushing. Then do betadiene or chlorhex gargle. it will be healed. Have hot food stuffs. Don't have cold food. It will be fine in few days or a week. In case of tonsilar stones it has to be removed by an ENT surgeon.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
