My niece was taken to the hospital ER yesterday afternoon. She had been sick since 5 AM that morning, throwing up and diarehea . She then began having spells of passing out and her hands became drawn. Upon arriving at the ER, they did some bloodwork and administered an IV. About 3 hours later, after the IV was completed, she was feeling much better so they released her and told her it was probably just a stomach bug and that the hand drawing was due to hyperventilation. She was weak for the rest of the night but ate some soup and then went to bed. she slet well and ate some soup again for lunch today. She was somewhat weak but seemed to be over the bug. However, after eating her dinner (which was only a few bites of noodles, broccoli, and chicken), she has become violently ill again. She complains of TERRIBLE stomach pain and is constantly heaving and trying to vomit. We tried using a heating pad and also placing her in a tub of warm water but it only helps a little. She keeps heaving but has nothing to vomit out. She is even talking deliriously at times and is very weak. She has been diagnosed before with IB-like symptoms and has also has episodes of passing out for which no cause has been determined. They have checked her blood sugar as well as other things to no avail in the past several years but she keeps having episodes of fainting. She is 21 years old and is very slender due to not eating much because it causes her stomach to hurt. Any ideas what might be wrong with her?
