What Causes Pain In Chest When I Blow My Nose?

Hi. I have a problem that started a few days ago. When I blow my nose it hurts really bad in the left side of my chest. It feels like the pain is located maybe around the heart or the top of my left lounge. At first the pain was only there whenever I blew my nose, but now it hurts even when I'm sitting still and breathing normally. I have never suffered from any kind of heart diseases before (that I know of). I'm a 26 year old european woman. What can it be that causes this pain? It has to be said that when I exercise it doesn't hurt. For example, yesterday I went for a run and I wasn't bothered by pain at all.

I dont think yor are having a heart problem, but it may be a sign of recent chest infection. You didn't tell about any other symptom like cough, fever or increased sputum production. But as you say blowing nose leads you to left sided chest pain, it seems you have increased sputum production. If it is yellowish white in color, most probably a pneumonia or bronchopneumonia with pleuritic chest pain could be the diagnosis. Proceed with an x-ray chest pa view and a complete hemogram. It will lead to a definitive diagnosis. A course of antibiotics will improve your condition but you should meet some local practitioner, as empirical antibiotics differ areawise depending on offending pathogen.
