Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
When I stand on my left leg a sharp pain ( feels like a stick is lodge in my calf )It hurts to touch my knee cap on the right, left and underneath.Moderate swelling the knee cap area. Popping noises from the right side of the knee. Warm to the touch. Please share your thoughts.
As you have this warm temperature at the Side of the knee, I suspect this to be an inflammation occurred due to either the ligament injury or maybe a degenerative change of the bones which happens due to ageing but the common thing is the reduction in the joint space and inflammation which occurs due to abnormal pathology.
Using a knee brace for support to the muscles to maintain the required strength and allowing the knee joint space to increase. Also, doing static Quadriceps and static hamstring will help you regain some strength in the knee muscles as well. By which the swelling will also come down. Using hot water fermentation will allow the muscles to relax and improve the circulation around the joint.
For best outcome score a guided balance board knee rehabilitation training under a physiotherapist will be good.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
