What Causes Numbness In Fingers And Palm?
Recently on 10 nov. 2011 I had been openheart surgery and aortic valve replacement.I am type 2 diabatic patient.Also numbness and pain in little finger,ring finger and half palm of left hand since before open heart surgery.There is also pain and tingeling when the fingers folded.

Unilateral numbness in the palm and fingers can be initial sign of peripheral neuropathy which is commonly seen in long standing diabetes mellitus.I were to do nerve muscle physiology tests and document the involvement(sensory/motor or mixed) and plan further management.Low doses of pregabalin can afford symptomatic relief but have to be taken under medical supervision.Hope this answers your query.
