What Causes Numbness And Tingling Sensation In Upper Lip?

My top lip has been numb for almost two weeks with tingling sensation and thick chapped skin. I had a middle ear infection two weeks ago and a cold a week before that. Is it possible it was caused by one of them? No pain, no lumps, and no weird or abnormal health issues just numbness of the upper lip. I m 24 years old, 5 10 and 140lbs with a clean medical history. From researching all I can find is belle s palsy but I do no have any symptoms other than the numb lip. Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms are not typical of any neurological disorder. Anyway, I would recommend consulting with a neurologist for a physical exam and performing a brain MRI, in order to exclude MS.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
