What Causes Missing Periods, Spotting And Negative Pregnancy Tests?

I had a missed period then the next one was light brown/beige discharge mixed with some blood. Was so light that I didn't need a tampon or pad. Only saw it when I wiped. I've taken 4 tests and all negative. I have been under a lot of stress in the past few months, could that be the cause?

OB & GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

It simply means irregular cycle and does not always mean that there is something wrong. Reasons may be, breast feeding, high stress, hormonal birth control pills, any illness, poor sleep, travel, lifestyle changes while you are on infertility treatment by clomiphene citrate, and during IVF, IUI, hormonal contraceptives, while on antidepressants, thyroid issues, exercise, malnutrition and anemia.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sunita Kothari, OB & GYN Specialist
