What Causes Lower Back Pain?

Hi,I m a fifty year-old woman with m.s..I came home from Europe with a UTI,AND did two rounds of antibiotics to clear it up.i have aNEW stymptom,my lower back is sore.what are the chances that this is now a kidney problem?i need a dr who is familiar with ms So before I sign up,do you have Drs.familiar with my autoimmune disease?

I have gone thu your query regarding auto immune disease .

Dear, there are many factors causing back pain as your age ,life style ,food habits , exertion at work place or home ,faulty posture , lack of exercise , mensuration or menopause in case of women .
These diseases ,are often addressed by powerful immune suppressing medication and not by addressing the cause .

1. due to disease being autoimmune in nature, people with MS can experience neck and back pain which is often aching,stiff and moderate in severity, however to know the exact cause one must visit an Orthopedic Doctor to rule out other causes of pain such as lumbar disc disease,osteoporosis [X-ray] or neurological deficiency, or you may consult a Gynecologist if X-ray is normal to rule out Gynaec causes
2. You can use over the counter [OTC] anti inflammatory drugs along with physiotherapy,stretching exercise.
3. Maintain straight back posture while standing or sitting
. Avoid bending forward and lifting heavy weight
. Sleep on hard mattress
. gentle massage with rubefacient ointments.
. Lumbosacral belt to support the spine and prevent bending.
PS. If there is shooting pain it may require pelvic traction, epidural injections, myelography or surgery.
