What Causes Low Blood Pressure Along With Lethargy?

Hi my mother just had an EVF and it came out abnormal stating a right precordial depolarization disturbance. Lately she has been getting a low blood pressure than her usual, feeling lethargic, numbness on her fingertips, discomfort on her lower extremities, and weakness. She has been on Atenolol 25mg and baby Aspirin for years now. She had a mini heart attack due to stress on January 2016. What does this ECG mean?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Since your mother has a history of heart attack you should get her a follow-up treatment done to rule out any CAD.

Low blood pressure & lethargy commonly occurs due to heart & endocrine problems, dehydration, severe infection & lack of nutrients in your food.

Keep your mother well hydrated, give her ORS, soups & juices Along with homemade nutritious food.

Get her physically examined in the ER, get all tests & investigations done to get treated any endocrine or heart problems detected.

Get her Nerve Conduction tests & nerve biopsy done to detect any developing peripheral neuropathy causing numbness & weakness in the extremities. Get her treated at the earliest.

In the meantime, give her food rich in vitamin B6, B12, Folic acids & minerals or dietary supplements.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
