What Causes Loss Of Muscle Strength After Taking Vyvanse?

I have been on vyvanse 50 mg for about 4 months now. I am 39 years old and am an avid body builder. I have noticed signifigant muscle/strength loss over the summer. More than normal since I work outside. Is this to be expected of vyvanse or could it be something else?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Vyvanse can cause muscle pain, cramping, and stiffness as a side effect. So, your symptoms can be related to the use of Vyvanse. I recommend to use a magnesium supplement which can help in muscle relaxation. I also suggest to consult your doctor about an alternative treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
