What Causes Left-sided Pressure Feeling In Head With Neck Pain?

For the past week or two i have been having these weird sensations in my head. Mostly localized to the left. It s hard to describe the feeling. It s not pain or a discomfort but almost like a pressure but again not really. I thought i was just anxiety but it felt different than that. I also have a pain in my right shoulder, shoulder blade, and arm like a pulled muscle. When i tilt my head down it makes that all hurt so i figured i pulled a muscle in my neck that was causing all this or it was me clenching my jaw which i do unknowingly sometimes. I thought it would all pas but this morning i woke up at one point and the right side of my head felt numb and my nose was stuffed, it went away within 5 minutes but it is still weighing on my mind.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your history well and understood the you have basic problem with cervical spine that is causing the muscle spasms, nerve compression also called as pinched nerve syndrome that is causing all the symptoms.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
* Consult a Neurosurgeon for clinical evaluation.
* MRI of the cervical spine.
* Any other relevant studies

All these will lead to a proper diagnosis and thus gives a plan for proper management. Management in all such cases is person specific meaning every one needs the treatment differently depending upon clinical presentation, signs and reports of investigations.

In general, you have to avoid excessive movements of neck, avoid bending.
Take the pillow as per your suitability.
No driving or any such activities that can cause sudden movements of neck over body.
Take an anti-inflammatory and muscle relaxant.
You may also consult a Physiotherapist after the opinion of a Neurosurgeon.

I hope this answer helps you. Let me know if I can assist you further.
