What Causes Itchy Rash Starting From Neck Towards My Chest?

21 year old female, with an itchy, blotchy, rash which started on my neck, and has spread to my chest and down my back, but it's not all connected, there are separate blotchy oval shaped rashes. I've noticed that higher temperatures cause it to be worse as does the warm water in the shower. I'm fair skinned and haven't really been in the sun this year, or near any kind of plants that could cause an itchy rash.

Dermatologist 's  Response

Hello,
Thank you for posting on HCM.
From your description its looks like you are having episodes of urticaria or hives, a kind of allergic skin eruption.
I would advise you to consult a dermatologist for proper management.
Usually i advise a long term course of various antihistaminics with or without corticosteroids.
Also, in certain non-responding cases various other medications like dapsone, montelukast, cyclosporine, omalizumab can be tried.
Thank you
Dr Hardik Pitroda
