What Causes Irregular Periods?

I am 52, just started having irregular periods, and have 2 grown children. Have had repeated ultrasounds for fibroids and they are growing but largest is only 4.9 x4.2 x 4.8cm. I am concerned that it says I have several small cysts on my ovaries that likely represent follicular cysts, with minimal septation on the left. Their is blood flow in both ovaries and no free fluid in the pelvis. Noted are nabothian cysts with a calcific focus it reads as well with the part about the fibroids. Should I be concerned?
