What Causes Impaired Hearing After Being Treated For Ear Infection?

I have an ear infection. I was seen on Thursday (Doctor never checked ear, nurse did) and given 10 days of amoxicillin. It is Sunday and I still cannot hear out of it properly. My care sheet says that if I did not feel better in a couple days I should go back in. I m uninsured and would love to avoid this, but health does come first. Should I head back into the hospital?

Hi,

An ear infection may lead to pus formation and wax in the ears which can cause some difficulty in hearing.

There is nothing to worry you report to ENT specialist for a general checkup. You may need to clear your blocked ears.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. SOHEEL HUSSAIN ZARGAR,
