Suggest Treatment For Pharyngeal Inflammation And Ear Infection

I was recently diagnosed with pharyngeal inflammation, ear infection and gland swelling. It has lasted for 5 days, I am on my second bout of antibiotics. I am experiencing heavy clear (slimey) mucus that seems to choke me and causes huge distress. I m using Musinex extra but the symptoms are alarming when it causes coughing, sneezing and choking. What extra might I do to inhibit this obnoxious, ugly process?
