What Causes Hyperthyroid In Teens?

Please tell me why my sixteen year old son s thyroid is hyper. He was diagnose and hospitalised for eating disorder over a year ago. He has been treated appallingly by our public hospital paediatrician. He has always had a poor appetite and still has a poor appetite.

Dear user, hi! welcome to HCM. hyperthyroidism is a state of over functioning thyroid. it can be either due to over treating hypothyroidism. or it can result from overactive thyroid nodule ie toxic thyroid nodule. thirdly it can be autoimmune thyroid enlargement. ie graves' disease. lastly it can be temporary phase due to thyroiditis. regards!
