Gastroenterologist 's  Response
Hello. Thanks for putting your query in HCM.

I can understand your concerns.

Elevation of liver enzymes suggest liver cel injury. There are many other causes for elevation of SGPT like alcohol intake, Hepatitis B and C virus, wilson disease, autoimmune liver disease .

So I will suggest you to visit a gastroenterologist for evaluation and appropriate management. Also get your ultrasound abdomen.

Meanwhile take tablets like ursodeoxycholic acid 300mg tds and cap evion 400mg od. Both these are hepatoprotective medicines and help in normalisation of SGOT and SGPT. Both are available OTC.

I hope I have answered your query and this will help you. If you have any further query I will be happy to answer that too. Remain in touch and get-well soon
