What Causes Heart Stings After Palpitations?

What is it when a heart stings after having palpitations? Am I trying to have a heart attack? I m overweight 5 3 about 166lbs. Bi-polar Disorder, acid reflux are all my problems. But the palpitations were different and certainly the stinging sensation.

Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

Your symptoms are not typical of coronary artery disease or a heart attack.

Gastro-esophageal reflux or avmusculo- skeletal pain could be the cause of your symptoms.

Anxiety can also trigger palpitations.

Anyway, if the problem persists, I would recommend consulting with your doctor for a physical exam and some tests:

- a resting ECG
- a chest X ray study
- Complete blood count for anemia
- thyroid hormone levels for thyroid dysfunction
- blood electrolytes for imbalance.

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr.Iliri
