Dear sir palpitations has so many reasons . It may be because of excessive use of caffeine containing drinks or alcohol . It may be first symptom of cardiac pathology . Anaemia hyperthyroidism, anxiety, depression viral infections , certain drugs can cause it.this may be simple sinus rhythm or it may be some abnormal rhythm originating from heart..to confirm the diagnosis complete history and examination is needed . You have not mentioned any thing else about your age, sex, weight and any other illness such as diabetes or hypertension .
