What Causes Headache With Chest Pressure?

My five year old male is running a temp of 101 and complaining of headache. He stated that his heart hurts and described it as a gorilla pounding on his chest (I can only assume that he means his heart is pounding). His resting heart rate is 160. Is this normal or should I be concerned?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Fever, headache and increased heart rate could be due to high grade fever spikes only. If he is running high fever continuously with photophobia, neck muscle spasm along with hamstring spasm, please go to a pediatrician to rule out meningitis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Prasanna Lakshmi, Pediatrician
