What Causes Fever And Headache Followed By Rashes On The Body?

What condition can cause symptoms like measles. The 32yo female was immunized as a child for measles but it certainly looks like measles and prior to rash had flue like symptoms ,fever, headache,aches and pains in the body. Female has just returned from Bali a week ago after a seven day stay.

Hi,

It can be measles but possibility of acute viral infection exposed during travel or with source of upper respiratory tract may also present with the same. Like flu virus etc as in some individuals viral infection may present with such rash.

Since she had recent travel history to Indonesia so possibility of dengue fever should also be ruled out with dengue serology and blood counts. In all these cases treatment is mostly supportive with hydration, anti pyretics or analgesics like Acetaminophen only which can be used safely during such spikes.
