Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A concussion? My four year old fell an hit her forehead yesterday afternoon. We took her into see her pediatrician and was told she was okay. Today she has a fever of 103. She has had a cold for a couple of days, so initially I assumed that was it, but now I am worried. Should we take her back in to see a doctor?
Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic. I understand your concern. First be reassured that your kid is normal. I will suggest you danger signs of head injury - 1. Vomiting continuously 2. Seizures 3. Watery of bloody discharge from ears and nose 4. Unconsciousness 5. Altered sensorium or behaviour. If none of them are present, I don't think you should worry about his trivial head injury.
For pain or fever you can give oral Paracetamol in the dose of 15mg/kg/dose(max ceiling dose 500mg) every 4-6th hourly.
Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health. Dr. Sumanth MBBS., DCH., DNB (Paed).,
