Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Feeling Of Stomach Bloating With History Of Gastrointestinal Problem?
I have been having GI issues for about 2 months now. At first, there was pressure when I went to the bathroom, but that has subsided. Now, my stomach feels bloated and full of gas when I wake up and sometimes throughout the day. Went to urgent care and they did an X-Ray of the intestines and stool sample but found nothing. I'm removing the lactose and taking an over the counter pro-biotic. Going to get blood tests at the end of the week. Could be neurological as I just finished grad school, no job and am entering the military at age 31. Any suggestions?
I understand your concern. Some advice that I can give to you are:
1)Take Simethicone medication to relieve bloating. 2) Avoid chewing gum. 3) Limit your intake of carbonated drinks. 4) Avoid foods that cause gas, such vegetables in the cabbage family, dried beans, and lentils. 5) Eat slowly and avoid drinking through a straw. 6) Use lactose-free dairy products.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
