Cardiologist 's  Response
Hi,
being breathlessness on lying down is not a good symptom. it can happen in many condition, predominantly in lung and heart conditions.
I suggest your mother to have a consult a cardiologist and a pulmonologist regarding the same.

as she's asthmatic, it may be more of a serious lung problem and hence get in touch with a pulmonologist first.

also get an ecg and 2 d echo done.
I find this answer helpful
