What Causes Discomforts In The Throat?

Hi, this is my first time writing, I have a uncomfortableness in my throat. Its not sore, its not swollen, it doesnt hurt when I swallow, I do not have any other signs that it may be Lymphoma. I am 35 yrs old. I do smoke marijuana alot. I went to a friend who is a medical assistant and he checked my lymph nodes and I had all my blood work done. Everything he said came back normal except my blood pressure is high and my cholesterol is high. Sometimes it is more tight than other days...but no pain just discomfort. My friend assured me that I do not have Lymphoma. i also still have my tonsils, So i dont know what could be causing this. I also checked and I do not have any symptoms that lean towards cancer EXCEPT the tightness of my throat. What can it be? Thank you

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your posterior pharynx examination and lymph nodes of cervical region should be palpated. If no any Abnormality present than no need to worry. Provide me your CBC with peripheral smear examination report for giving more comment. For examination Consult otorhinolaryngologist doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
