What Causes Dark Brown Colored Discharge Before The Menstrual Cycle?

i am 19 years old and am sexually active i had unprotected sex twice lat month but used emergency contraceptives.regularl i and my mate use condoms but this time around a week before my periods i am having a dark brown colored discharge which is the first time it is good enough in quantity .can i be pregnant??

Dark brown discharge can commonly occur at the onset of period in many women and it usually indicates old dried blood from previous cycles.

Since you have mentioned recent sexual intercourse,it is essential to take a pregnancy test by 10 days of missed period or 2 weeks after intercourse.

Any history of foul smelling or curdy white discharge indicates vaginal infection which should be treated with antibiotics.
