What Causes Dark And Flaky Stool?

Hi I've been eating lots of fiber this past week and have had normal stool in which i can see the fiber. However, I just pooped and although it wasn't much, there was a part of my stool that was dark and flaky. Any ideas why? no blood and no stomach discomfort and I've been drinking normal amounts of water.

Hello,
Single episode of dark and flaky stool should not alarm you to serious diagnosis unless you see consistenly very black stools which is termed as melena or blood in stool. Eating fibers and various food items can also somewhat change the color and consistency of the stool.
Thanks for asking question on HCM. I hope the information helps.
