Hi!

Welcome to health care magic!

I am Dr. Saddiq Ul Abidin. I have read your problem in detail and will try to help you in best way possible.

First of all, once AFB was tested positive and evidence of TB was such strong, you have to complete 8 months of treatment to avoid recurrence and resistance to the TB bacteria, even if sputum is now negative for AFB.

Having symptoms like cough, weight loss or fever will take some time to recover. AFB being negative is showing that treatment is working. Also get regular ESR done on every visit to see the decreasing trend as it will also be a good sign.

Meanwhile get your Liver and kidney functions tested monthly as TB medicine cause there derangement.

If symptoms like decreased appetite, jaundice or impaired colored vision appears consult the doctor immediately.

You can use cough syrups like ammonium chloride for symptomatic relief.

For constipation you can use, plenty of liquids, ispaghol husk or lactulose for motility bit both within two hours of TB medicines.

Hope this has answered your query, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. kindly rate me before closing, and leave your feedback if possible.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ul abidin.
