What Causes Continuous Vaginal Bleeding After Embryo Transfer?

Hello Dr, I strated bleeding heavily 4 days after my embryo transfer (2 transfered at day 4). The bleeding has continued now for 4 days, heavy with clots. Dr has increased the progesterone dosage. Is it possible to still get a positive pregnancy test? I am due to have my blood test in 5 days.

OB & GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Heavy bleeding may be due to uterine cramps, Progesterones won’t prevent inevitable abortion, there are N number of cases who continued their pregnancy till delivery after heavy bleeding but please do USG pelvis for confirmation of feral tissue.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. V. Nagasravani, OB & GYN Specialist
