What Causes Color Change In The Nipple Along With Pain?

My right breast nipple is turning white. I do have some pain with it. There is no discharge. My mammogram came back negative. My PCP did a breast exam and she found nothing. She wants me to see a surgeon to double check me and make sure there is no cancer.

Hello,

Only a mild color change with pain can be due to local inflammation or swelling. If mammogram has come clear then there is no need to worry. You can keep the area well moisturized and see if it helps.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
