Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Cold means is he sneezing fast breathing making snoring sound if so he could be infected if none of these is present he is just having some pooling of secretions which is normal in newborns. It will reduce on its own.

If it is bothering you, please put Nasoclear drops over nostril. What you are describing is dry skin with neonatal acne quite common in newborns. For dry skin apply some baby oil which is non fragrant.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Prasanna Lakshmi, Pediatrician
