I went to see my primary care doctor I had been feeling sick for few days light fever on and off sore throat and slightly coughs.. she told me it’s a virus going around just take mucinex dm and zertac and drink a lot of fluid and just rest. But she decided to prescribe me methylprednisolone 4 mg It’s steroids when I aske her why you giving me steroids she said it will help with your immune system and help fight the virus. Then when I went to pick up my methylprednisolone 4 mg from The pharmacy the pharmacist asked me if I know why my dr prescrib this med. NO! She explained she probably felt you had inflammation caused by bad coughs. Which I didn’t have bad coughs. I took the first 3 tables then i stopped talking because I read online it’s for bunch of other problems I never had not have. So why would this dr give me steroids because I told her I been coughing!? Could you please explain why ?
