What Causes Chills And Runny Nose After Taking Twinrix?

Hello I received a hep A/B booster shot on 11/16/16. 2 days ago I got chills and a runny nose, and a upset stomach. I now have a redsih type rash on the shin of my right leg. Noticed that on 11/24/16 Its itchy at times and warm to the touch, as though it has alittle fire in it. is this normal after 1 week of receiving this booster shot?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, these can be trivial or benign drug reactions after vaccination shots and may resolve with OTC analgesic like Acetaminophen and anti histamines like Cetrizine or Loratidine.

If persists, a primary care physician review for severe drug reactions can be sought.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
