What Causes Burning On Tongue, Dry Throat And Dry Cough?

I have been ill for 5 months now. My doctor has not been able to figure out what is going on with me. She said and I quote you are a medical mystery right now I have a burning in the back of my throat, burning on my tongue (sometimes), hoarsness, a dry cough, feeling of excess phlegm, post nasal drip and dry throat feeling and sometimes difficulty swallowing. I have seen an oral pathologist do not have burning mouth syndrome, dentist and I have no dental issues, had allergy testing completed to environmental and food and these test were all normal. I have had numerous blood tests done including hormone levels, autoimmune tests, TSH levels, etc. I have had a normal barium swallow. My doctor started me on tecta today because I have all the signs of Acid reflux without heartburn. If I do not have this issue and I am taking Tecta can this hurt me? or make my symptoms worse? Any suggestions on what could be going on with me?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
I had gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.

This could be LPRD. That is laryngopharyngeal reflux. That is reflux of gastric acid into larynx and pharynx. This could be cause for all your symptoms.

I recommend the following.

1) Avoid coffee or tea.
2) Avoid smoking .
3) Keep regular diet habits.
4) Have your dinner at least 3 hours before bedtime.
5) Continue the proton pump inhibitor adviced by your doctor. Thus could relieve your symptoms.
You will be fine.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any questions, I am happy to help.
Wish you a good health and speedy recovery.
